Quick Tips - Beat the Heat - Hot Weather Makeup Must Have's

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and we need hot weather makeup tips maybe, three times a year, if that. Yes it is pretty rarely hot here, its mostly mild all year round but every once in a while this Bay Area girl ventures out to visit my mom in Sacramento (hot as...! most of the year) and vacation spots like Sayulita, Mexico.

Even when on vacation, in an extremely humid environment I want to look good in at least some of the photos my husband was taking and I will tell you what the secret is to that...makeup! Yes, makeup but not your everyday makeup but rather a few key selections that were going to keep me and you on your next trip out your front door or to a hot climate locale looking good despite the heat. So here they are, my beat the heat pics:

Complexion

MAC Face and Body Makeup is the choice for keeping your complexion looking its best. This formula is water based (feels like you have nothing on) and water resistent (holds up to the heat). The body part came in handy for me when I came home with about 50 mosquito bites and had to wear a skirt out on Saturday night. A little Face and Body on my legs really helped my legs look a bit better.

Eyes

Keep it simple. A bit of lid primer, a light shimmer shadow dusted on your lid (love Stila Kitten, just the right amount of sparkle) and a waterproof black liner right in the lash line. Aqua Eyes by Makeup Forever is my pick everyday of the year when you need eyeliner that will stay and hot weather makeup is no exception.

Cheeks

Creme, creme, creme! When it's hot, embrace a bit of shine instead of powder because creme blushes will look more natural than powders. My favorite and frankly only creme blush I use is Stila Convertible Color. It comes in a wide array of colors and is so easy to apply. Simply pick up some of the product on your middle finger and blend onto your cheek with middle and ring finger. It really couldn't be easier.

Lips
I love lip balms for the moisturizing properties of course. I am a big fan of Tarte's LipSurgence pencils and whats not to love about Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm
