The Dolls Recommend - Our favorite bronzer brushes

Application is key and using a brush that is large and fluffy but still firm will ensure an even look. We recommend:

Stila - #17 Retractable Bronzer Brush $26.00
Ever fans of all Stila brushes, this bronzer brush does not disappoint. It is perfectly firm yet fluffy enough for an even application. It is also retractable, a plus for girls on the go!

The Balm - Mini Kabuki Brush $12.00
You can't beat the price of this little gem. Small in size which makes it easy to hold and apply.

The Dolls Recommend - Our favorite bronzers

What would we do without bronzers? It gives us that perfect little sun-kissed glow we love! We think many women tend to shy away from bronzer from fear of looking "orange" but with the right product and brush to apply it that sun kissed glow is just a sweep of a brush away!

Watch for our next post on our favorite brushes!

Bare Escentuals Faux Tan Allover Face Color $18.00
This is a loose bronzer that gives a very natural matte look with a very subtle sheen. It produces a color that is more of a nutty brown and won't leave you looking orange. A little goes a long way with this one!
Hourglass Superficial Waterproof Bronzer $45.00

This is more of a luxury bronzer. It is waterproof and the formula withstands humidity and moisture, perfect for summer! It gives your skin a natural, sun-kissed look and can be paired perfectly with our favorite pink blush, Pale Pink from Bobbi Brown.

The Dolls Recommend - Our favorite makeup wipes

There are days when at the end of the night we can't bear to wash our faces (you know those nights) and we just want something quick to take our makeup off that doesn't require water. Thankfully there are a host of quick little cleaning wipes on the market that can simply and quickly whisk anything and everything right off your face with almost zero effort.  Below are a few of our favorites for doing just that:

Neutrogena Makeup Cleansing Towlettes
Find these  at your local drug store and at about $7.00 for 25.00 wipes; a great deal! The smell is barely there, so if you are sensitive to smell these are the choice for you! They are extemley soft and gentle but are strong enough to even remove waterproof mascara.

MAC Wipes
MAC online, MAC boutiques and department stores sell these $18.00 for 45 wipes. These super soaked wipes remove everything gently but are a bit heavy on the fragrance. If you are sensitive to smell this may not be the wipe for you.

Sephora Face 25 makeup removing wipes
Online or at your local Sephora $8.00 for 25 wipes.

Fabulous Finds - MAC Cremesheen Glass

Just last week, MAC launched a limited edition collection, In the Groove. There are plenty wonderful things for purchase like shadow trios and mineralize skin finish powders, but the star of the show, the must have of this collection, are the Cremesheen Glasses. We mean it...they are a must have for your lip wardrobe!

Cremesheen Glass is truly like no other lip gloss product from MAC, that's probably why we like it so much. At times, we find their lipgloss collection to be too sticky, too shimmery, too a lot of things but not with Cremesheen! There isn't a hint of stickiness on the lip and the texture is sublime. The colors are perfectly opaque and shimmer free. The end result is a gorgeous pout!

Our standout favorites are: You've got it, On the Scene and Fashion Whim.

The Dolls Recommend - Nars Blush

We Dolls obsess over many things beauty; arched eyebrows, the perfect shade of self tanner and lip exfoliator to name a few, but none more than our obsession for blush! Ask either of us one of the items we wouldn't leave the house without wearing and it would be blush. Something as simple as a little pop of color on the apple of the check or a wash of color on the cheek bone can make all the difference in the world for your overall look.

We love many a blush, but our tried and true favorites seem to always come from Nars. The pigments are perfectly buildable so you can apply a little for a more sheer look or really layer it on her a more intense hue. "What blush did you use on me" is one of our most asked questions by our clients and the answer usually starts with Nars. Here are a few of our absolute favorites:

Amour - Rosy Pink with a matte finish

Dolce Vita - The most beautiful dusty rose

Madly - Perfect pinky-brown *Doll Fave

Orgasm - Gorgeous super shimmery peach

The Dolls Recommend - Our favorite brow products

Beautiful brows...they hold a special place in The Makeup Dolls hearts. If you have ever met us or if we have done your makeup, you know how meticulous we are about our brows and our clients! Brows are such an important part of a finished makeup look, they really do frame the face. Whether it's a touch of brow gel to keep them in place or a powder to fill in and define sparse brows, treating your brows to a bit of beauty of their own will give your makeup the overall polish you desire. Here are a few of our tried tested and true favorites:

Shiseido 'The Makeup' Natural Eyebrow Pencil - retails for $20.00
This has been one of our favorite pencils for years and it has recently been redone to include a blending brush. This firm pencil adds just the right amount of color onto the brow and now with the addition of the brush, it can be blended in perfectly. We really love the colors it comes it too; anyone can find a shade to match their natural brow.

Smashbox Brow Tech Wax - retails for $20.00
This is one of Smashbox's best selling products and we know why! Use this brow wax to brush into brows to keep in place or purchase a split pan with wax and brow powder to first define with powder and keep into place with the wax. You will really love the results of this product!

Lancome - Modele Sourcils Brow Groomer - retails $22.00
We love the consitency of this brow gel and it works so well to hold brows into place. It is formulated to use alone or over brow pencil and comes in two colors which will work for most brows.

Anastasia - 5 Element Brow Kit - retails $650.00
This is a fantastic kit from the Queen of Beverly Hills brows herself. This five piece kit comes with everything you need to shape, maintain and color your brows all in a cute pink bag. Think of it as eyebrow essentials!
